“My candle burns at both ends;

It gives a lovely light!”

Honey, this is very nice, but don’t you mean, “It gives two lovely lights”?  It’s a candle burning at both ends, so it’s giving off two lights.  But that’s besides the point - why are you lighting a candle at both ends?  Didn’t your mother ever teach you how to light a candle?   How do you stand a candle up if you light both ends?  I guess you’d have to lay it on its side, which has to be a fire hazard, especially if it rolls.  Very dangerous.  And why are you even lighting this candle in the first place?  It’s night time.  You should go to bed.  You’re worried it won’t last the night?  You won’t last the night if you don’t go to sleep soon.  I hear they have great deals on candles at Costco.
